Silence Kids Activities Blog

I ™ve been finding information technology hard to write.   I don't know why since a TON has been going on merely I just don't know how to put what I am thinking, what I am feeling, into words.   We traveled to the US for Christmas and life has been crazy since.   We were stuck in snow in NYC, had a scare thinking that our son might demand hearing aides (he doesn't), lost a passport (and a stuffed monkey), and so my grandmother passed away (she lived a long, full life).

A week after returning dwelling to Nigeria in January the city in which we alive experienced a week of fighting.   Tensions had been high for a long time and on Jan 17thursday the ice broke …in parts of town people were shooting their neighbors and burning down houses.   The crisis broke out due to political, religious and tribal differences.   We stayed locked in our compound for almost a calendar week, safe but uncertain of what was going on around u.s.a..   While nosotros are so thankful God protected u.s.a. during a tumultuous time, nosotros grieve for our neighbors who lost family unit, homes and possessions.

Yesterday, February 20th, my hubby and I joined a grouping called Global Relief in taking some small relief to victims of the Crisis of 2010 .   We assisted the group in sorting apparel and medicine and and so delivering the clothes, medicine, food, blankets, and musquito nets to 125 needy families from a neighborhood that has practically become a ghost town.

here I am viewing the devestation

While it was devastating to run across streets of houses burned and few people walking through in one case bustling streets, it was encouraging to hear the promise in the voices and the religion that so many had.   How would I deal with such a situation?   I tin can just promise that I would forgive and begin to rebuild my life as many of these people are doing.

I sat with some ladies for a while during the crunch debriefing time

The group we served yesterday is just a small-scale number of the many who have been displaced and who accept lost loved ones.   Plus, in that location is withal tension and unrest in many parts of town.

the truck loaded upwardly with food and clothes for needy families

We go along to pray for peace in our city and for forgiveness and at-home.   I would enquire yous to pray with u.s. for the city of Jos, Nigeria.   Give thanks y'all.
